Managing Optician Job
Summary:
This individual will be responsible for assisting the Managing Optician in all aspects of lens production and quality control for the lab.
Duties will include frame repair, frame dispensing, frame adjustment, and frame selection/measurement.
Education and
Experience:
Varied optical/dispensary experience, with emphasis on areas mentioned above.
Familiar with managed vision care plans and their individual benefits/requirements.
Inventory management experience preferred.
Essential Skills and Abilities:

Demonstration of appropriate team player attitude and enthusiasm.

Working knowledge of all current lens materials, coatings, frames, etc.
Good interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Operations Assist in effective inventory and quality control for the lab.
Perform frame repair as needed.
Contact patients for dispensing of optical goods when ready.
Perform frame adjustment when frame selecting/dispensing.
Attend annual training in area of expertise to maintain knowledge of current ophthalmic goods.
Take measurements and enter spectacle orders (for in-house and third party labs).
Communicate effectively with Managing Optician regarding status of equipment and quality of in-house work.
Help develop and maintain routine maintenance/cleaning of lab and equipment.
Liaison with frame representatives.
