Relationship Banker I (890-522)

Position Summary:
Performs a variety of duties in promoting and selling bank deposit services to new and existing customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Opening and processing new accounts, including but not limited to, DDA, SAV, IRA's, certificates of deposit and money market accounts.
Consults with customers on their specific needs for deposit accounts.
Quotes rates, service charges, restrictions and other relevant information about the accounts.
Prepares necessary paperwork for opening new accounts and input on computer.
Orders checks, ATM Cards and Debit Cards.
Maintaining files on the account status of branch customers; informing customers when fixed time deposit accounts have matured; renewing accounts or opening new accounts.
Responding to customer inquiries on account status; researching problems and concerns.
Must be proactive in meeting the needs of customers, such as utilizing tools provided to offer additional products and retain existing relationships.
Cross-selling other bank services and referring customers to other departments such as Lending or Mortgage when necessary.
Keeping informed of changes in bank services and procedures.
Handles and relays through the Operations Department: Power of Attorneys, successions, and estates.
Handle and relays through the Compliance Department: Subpoenas and court order
Send items for collection.
Collects charge-offs.
Make monthly Portfolio Retention calls.
Initiate Wire transfers.
Additional job duties may be assigned as needed.
Provide excellent customer service
Safe Deposit box ? open and entry.
Handle and process collection notes.
Take loan applications when loan officers are busy
Adheres to the BSA Policy and all other Bank Policies.
Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills
General knowledge of DDA, SAV, IRA, CD, and money market accounts.

Required Experience
Requires an associate's degree or equivalence to 0-2 years of experience in accounts and customer contact.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
